After doing the business needs analysis you understand your client’s goals for sustainability. If you have agreed with your client that a skills development program is the best option you need to identify which sustainability skills the business needs to develop.
This will depend on which aspects of sustainability the business is targeting and what skills are required for those activities across the different levels of the organisation. It also depends on the existing skills of the workers who will be undertaking the sustainability activities.
In the process outlined here the analysis focuses on:
- The skills that will be applied in the sustainability activities that are targeted by the business
- Which job roles and target groups will need these skills and at what levels
- Which skills the target group has already developed.
The specific skills that you identify for the target groups will form the basis of your customised program/s. You can document the analysis process and outcomes in your training and assessment strategies.
