These online assessment ideas focus on selected required knowledge from the MSS Energy Efficiency Skill Sets. They are not intended as sufficient evidence of required knowledge. Additional evidence such as a work place project would also be required to meet the rules of evidence for summative assessment.
These online assessment ideas are intentionally quite generic as each RTO will need to design their questions according to the functions and options that are available in their online system.
Online functionality is increasingly being used within an assessment and it is well suited to testing knowledge. Online assessment questions can provide detailed explanations about the correct and incorrect answers. This can be used as formative assessment where the assessment contributes to the learning process.
In an online knowledge assessment the questions might be primarily text based or could be supported with images, animation, scenarios or video case studies. They might use online functionality such as drag and drop of text or images, selecting from multiple choices, matching pairs or other options.
